Teruyuki Miyajima received Ph. D. degree form Saitama University, Japan, in 1994. In 1994, he joined the Department of Systems Engineering, Ibaraki University, Japan, as a research associate, and he is now a professor of the Fuculty of Applied Science and Engineering. From June 2002 until May 2003, he was a visiting researcher at the Univeristy of California, Davis.  Dr. Miyajima is a member of IEICE and IEEE.
